Our Leadership

Executive Director, Richard S. Kordos has more than thirty years experience of professional producing and presenting experience in the arts. Richard was previously the executive producer for the Marriott CorporationÕs theatre in Chicago. After spending much of his career in Chicago where he guided several theatre projects through the construction process, Richard accepted an opportunity to manage the Norris Center for the Performing Arts near Los Angeles.

While Richard has had considerable experience with producing and presenting programs featuring a variety of artists in theatre, dance and music, he has also developed and expanded educational program, which focused on training for students and community members in acting, dance and musical theatre.

Richard’s Vision

The new Academy of Fine Arts will be a place of training in and exposure to the varied disciplines of the fine arts, guided by artists of note, with a commitment to working toward discovery, excellence and beauty.

Built on a tradition of quality and enjoyment so successfully established in Lynchburg over the years, it will be a center of creative and social activity of and for the communities of Greater Lynchburg.
