The new Academy of Fine Arts will become a
- Center of Performance.
To insure that the best of the professional regional, national and international performing arts world is readily accessible to the region’s citizens; and
To insure that opportunities for personal growth and enjoyment of the performing arts are made available to community artists.
- Center of Training.
To insure that citizens are exposed to the varied disciplines of the fine arts, guided by regional and national artists of note, with a commitment to working toward discovery, excellence, and beauty.
- Center of Creative, Social and Business Activity
to insure that any level of community need is accommodated for all the communities of greater Lynchburg and Central Virginia.
Our Goal for the Academy
To create the Academy of Fine Arts as a model for community-designed and administered programs in arts education, training, theatrical performance, business and social interaction.
