The Sound of Riverdance: Michael Londra at the Academy

As Michael Londra, Irish tenor of Riverdance fame said, When you go home (Ireland), you gather with your friends and sing in the local pub. And so in Lynchburg, people gathered at the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theatre, ate delicious Irish food, and listened to Michael weave together an afternoon of Irish music, dance, and remembrances of his life in Ireland and abroad. I came to Lynchburg and was astonished to find an accent strong than my own, he joked. He sang traditional Irish ballads in a sweet tenor that never wavered from its true course. With many of the ballads, you could have heard a pin drop, the audience was so enrapt.
