Since retiring in 1999 from a thirty-one year career as an art teacher with the Lynchburg City School System, I have been painting full time. I received my bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1964. Afterwards, I attended California State University at Fullerton, California, Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California, and Lynchburg College for advanced studies and workshops. I have also studied with Ron Boehmer, a respected artist in Central Virginia.

Exhibitions of my work include Lynchburg Art Club, The Lynchburg Fine Arts Center, The Academy of Fine Arts, Lynchburg College, Bedford City Public Library, Sweet Briar College, The Lodge of the Fisherman, The Sedalia Center, Meriwether’s Restaurant, Riverviews Artspace, 720 Gallery, and Magnolia Foods. Centra Health, Bank of the James in Lynchburg and the Harrison Museum of African American Culture in Roanoke, VA each own a painting as part of their permanent collection.
